The beaches have lifeguards on duty during the day, situated in towers just slightly back from the water. In the Lummus Park area, the lifeguard towers are actually small Art Deco structures, each one individually designed by an architect. And the main lifeguard station, located just off the beach at 10th Street and Ocean Drive, is a truly marveous Art Deco building.
The South Beach equivalent to the Baywatch television show...only with far fewer swimming incidents...surrounded by even more incredibly beautiful women (really)...who are wearing even skimpier swimsuits (not even a contest).
