South Beach Languages

It's debatable which language you hear the most when you walk down the sidewalk in South Beach. Is it English, or is it Spanish? Given the substantial population which originally came from Cuba and various parts of South and Central America, Spanish may well be heard more than English. And German may be a close third as South Beach has become a very popular place for German tourists and part-time residents. And you'll also frequently hear French, Italian, and numerous other languages. There's an old joke about South Beach that says "One of the nice thing about South Beach is it's so close to the U.S.
When you're in South Beach, you really do feel like you've taken a trip to some exotic far-away land, yet you have all of the conveniences of being part of the U.S. mainland (well sort of...connected via a causeway).
